As a part of the Futur21 Exhibition in 2022, which took part throughout North-Rhine-Whestphalia, we had the chance to exhibit our own projection as students through a course at the FH Bielefeld. Many people came together to make the exhibition a real experience and I found a group, which made the work easy going and fun. Even throughout the hardship we have seen the project as a great chance, because we got to do our own first exhibiton.
We chose the subject of burnout, with a focus on how work gets mixed up with our private life and becomes so overwhelming, that it burns into our mind. We found the perfect spot for our projection mapping in the furnace of the brick factory in Lage.
The user is invited to sit down at a desk, there are three headphones available for the immersive experience. Throughout the animation a sensory overload is taking place in the viewer, stress and uncontrollability is creeping onto the user. Afterwards the viewers are invited to leave a note with whatever they have to say, which i found was a very nice gift to us and i was grateful for all the messages.
