In my Bachelorthesis I explored the theory of the transmigration of the soul onto other planets in the afterlife. To depict the Soul I modelled the Mandelbrot fractal in Blender and 3D printed it with a resin printer. I chose the fractal to depict the soul, as the fractal repeats its own structure repeatedly. This translates well to the theory of the soul repeating a life cycle, reincarnating and saving these memories in itself.
The fractal/soul is connected to a set of monitors, which symbolize the extraction of Data from the soul and translate it into video footage. What we see are memories of past lives and existences, in the form of POV footage, Emotion through dance, thoughts processes and colour. Snippets of memories invite the viewer to find their own perspective and associations within the videos, as each life is individual.
